Unit 3 Blog

I chose online classes because in the past when I have tried traditional college I have flunked out because I get bored with classes and I quit going. The advantage to me of online classes is I can go at my own speed each week. So if I feel like trying to get as much homework crammed into one day I can or I can try to spread it out over several days. This also enables me to be able to spend time with my daughter and not feel overwhelmed with everything I have going on.

A little more about me

I am a Type 1 diabetic. I do research about diabetes all the time. Right now I am following Dr. Faustman's research about a possible cure for Type 1 diabetes. I use an insulin pump
and I am working on getting a Dexcom CGMS. In what little spare time I have I like to teach myself how to do graphic work on the computer as well as spend as much time as possible with my daughter. It is amazing on how much she changes on a daily basis. I work full time at LaVerna Village. I love my job as a CNA but I do want to make better money and give my daughter the life she deserves.

Welcome Professor Manning and classmates.
I am a type 1 diabetic and I want to use my experience to help other diabetics so I have decided to pursue a career as a Certified Diabetes Educator. I am also the proud mother of a gorgeous 8 month old little girl named Whitney. The little boy is my nephew Daniel. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
